About Ines Valcarce

Professional Statement

As a dedicated and compassionate physician, my approach to patient care is centered on empathy, active listening and evidence-based decision making. I believe in treating the person as a whole, not just a disease, and building trust with patients and their families is my priority. I was trained in family medicine in the U.S. and in hematology in my home country of Spain, and that allows me to help patients as a primary care provider and also as a hematologist.

Why did you become a provider?
I love being able to help patients feel good and live a good and health life.

Why did you decide to join UnityPoint Health?
Because I liked its values and what it represents for the community.

Medical Specialties or Special Interests:
Hematology. Because of my previous training and thanks to UnityPoint, I'm able to help our community with my knowledge of hematology, as well as family medicine.

What would your patients say about you?:
I am approachable, I listen to them, and I always explain everything plainly. We are a team, and we make decisions together.

Ideal provider/patient relationship:
Trust is key, and an open nonjudgmental relationship is the goal.

What do you like to do in your free time?
We like to travel, and enjoy good food, being outdoors, playing tennis and being with family.
